RICE

Transplanting of long or medium duration variety of rice seedling which is 21-25 days old should be done with spacing 20 x 15 cm. Apply butachlor @ 3 lit/ha with 700-800 lit of

water after 2-3 days of transplanting to control weed.

 

GROUNDNUT

Farmers are advised for sowing of groundnut varieties like AK 12-24, Kuber, JL 24 etc. in the field having well drainage system. Seed should be sown after treatment with Bavistin

2.5 g/kg of seed to protect from damage by insects. Row to row spacing should be 30 cm. and plant to plant spacing should be 10 cm.

 

SOYABEAN

Farmers are advised for sowing of soybean seeds. Seed should be sown after treatment with Bavistin to protect from damage by insects. Row to row spacing should be 50-60 cm. and plant to plant spacing should be 25 cm.

Banana growers are advised to provide support to five months and above old banana plants with the help of bamboo pole to avoid falling down due to high wind speed

and rainfall.

COW

Monitor livestock closely during continuous rainfall for signs of illness. Wet and muddy conditions can increase the risk of respiratory infections, hoof problems, and skin issues. Maintain proper hygiene, provide clean drinking water, and consider appropriate vaccinations and treatments to prevent diseases associated with damp conditions.

Farmers are advised to vaccinate their poultry birds against Ranikhet disease. During rainy days farmers may provide proper brooding facility to the birds.

GENERAL ADVICE

Before sowing of any crop, farmers are advised for application of well decomposed FYM or compost, it increases the water use efficiency as well as nutrient quantity in the soil.

Use balance amount of fertilizers after soil testing. Farmers are also advised to increase the amount of potash it helps in minimizing the losses due to the moisture stress during dry spell. In rain fed areas, use of mulches is beneficial for conservation of moisture in the soil.

 

GENERAL ADVICE

Farmers are advised to start sowing of Cucurbits in rainy season. It is most suitable time to sow recommended hybrids/ varieties. Some popular hybrids are Bottle Gourd- Pusa Naveen, Pusa Samridhi, Bitter Gourd- Pusa Visesh, Pusa-2 mosumi, Pumpkin- Pusa Visvash, Pusa Vikash, Ridge Gourd- Pusa Chikni, Cucumber- Pusa Uday, Pusa Barkha etc.
